HRCSD seeks community input on current and future strategic plans

Hood River County School District (HRCSD) is hosting a series of community listening sessions this fall to engage families and community members in two critical efforts: reviewing the performance of the current strategic plan's core values and developing the next five-year strategic plan.

HRCSD believes that the community perspective is vital for student success and planning. These sessions will provide an opportunity for families to share insights and offer direct feedback on how the district is currently performing against its established core values in areas such as student learning, safety, and cultural responsiveness.

Crucially, this feedback will also serve as a foundational step in shaping the district's goals and priorities for its next five-year strategic plan. Your input will help ensure the new plan is responsive to the needs and aspirations of Hood River County students and schools for years to come.

Please join us at one of the following times to contribute to this important planning process:

  • Monday, Nov. 3: Cascade Locks Elementary at 5:30pm
  • Tuesday, Nov. 4: Wy’east Middle School at 5pm
  • Tuesday, Nov. 4: Westside Elementary at 6:30pm
  • Wednesday, Nov. 5: Hood River Middle at 5pm
  • Thursday, Nov. 13: Mid Valley Elementary at 5pm
  • Thursday, Nov. 13: Parkdale Elementary at 6:15pm
  • Wednesday, Nov. 19: May Street Elementary at 5pm
  • Tuesday, Dec. 2: Hood River Valley High School at 5pm

Families and community members are encouraged to attend any session that fits their schedule. While most sessions are held in partnership with the host school’s Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) and may focus on topics specific to that school site, the discussions will address district-wide priorities, and all participants’ voices are welcome.

Hood River Options Academy families are welcome to attend their student's neighborhood school session and/or any session of their choosing.

In advance of the sessions, attendees are encouraged to review the core values survey results and information regarding the current strategic plan, which will frame the discussion prompts. This information may be found on the main HRCSD webpage for strategic planning.

Childcare will be provided for each of these sessions, and Spanish interpretation will be available. For more information, please contact the communications office at hrcsd.communication@hoodriver.k12.or.us.
